What does this mean you ask? I'm showing my support by blacking out UrbanInteract.com in protest of SOPA and PIPA. If one of these bills were to pass, the internet as you know it can be shut down with little warning, and no due process for those accused. Oh, even if they have done nothing wrong, if someone posts a comment on a website you own that contains even a fraction of questionable material the website owner can be convicted of a felony and banned from using the internet FOREVER. As someone who creates content for the web, earns a living from it, and has had my content pirated, I do feel that we need better legislation against online piracy. I do not, however, think that SOPA or PIPA are the legislation we need. Want to help in the fight against SOPA / PIPA? First, go learn about the bills. After that go contact your elected officials.
